Recognise A Motswana - Joe Brown Tlhaselo

This morning we celebrate, Mr Joe Brown - Tlhaselo a teacher by profession and a journalist by passion. He started writing at a very tender age while at primary school. Mr Brown - Tlhaselo currently works as the Mid-Week Sun Editor. He holds a BA Humanities (English) and Post Graduate Diploma in Education. Mr Tlhaselo's first story was published in the guardian in 2001. In 2009  he was head hunted by Guardian as a full time journalist because of his creative writing skills that attracted many readers. He was appointed Sports Editor in 2010 and News esditor in 2011. 

While a teacher at Kagiso Secondary School. he started a press club called Kagiso Observer in 1996, and while at the University of Botswana he started the first newspaper called UBPost; the now UB Horizon, and here he was the minister of Information and propaganda. He served in the University of Botswana's UB scope magazine. While at Letlhakane Secondary School he started a press club called Boiteko News.

He started the LotSun newspaper at Lotsane Secondary school. He has taught some of Botswana's well known journalists of excellence including, Ms. Osesenaqa Lekgoko, Mosimanegape Tshoswane and Mr. Tiro Diepo.
