  • Reports to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Sets the strategic and policy guidelines for the Banks Retail Loans Department
  • Establishes initiatives to expand the organisation's retail lending product lines and markets and
  • Optimizes the existing retail lending business processes

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the end to end operations of the Retail Loans Department to ensure profitability
  • Setting comprehensive goals for business development
  • Setting the strategic direction for Retail Lending Department

Key Responsibilities

  1. To be acountable for the delivery of systems, operations and the general operatin model in Botswana adn over time in the Group
  2. Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
  3. Set comprehensive goals for business growth and success
  4. Establish policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision
  5. Oversee daily operations and the work of the Retail Loan Department
  6. Analyze and interpret data and metrics
  7. Create reports for management
  8. Maintain relationships with partners and vendors
Minimum Education or Qualifications: 
  • Must have worked at least 10 years as COO with Pan African and other International Experience
  • MA in Business Administration or similar relevant field
  • International consumer lending experience
Key Skills and Experience: 
  • In-depth knowledge of different business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing etc.
  • Hands on experience in fundaraising, strategic plannig, business development and mergers and acquisitions
  • Farmiliarity with IT/Business infrastructure and an in depth understanding of systems engineering
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Knowledge of other African language a plus
