True Afribites wins CBC Botswana 2019
The Creative Business Cup Botswana is a the local leg of one of the most esteemed Entrepreneurship competitions and platforms across the world and this past weekend, the local finalists went head to head.
The Creative Business Cup is a global network for entrepreneurs, investors and organizations from the creative industries. Creative Business Cup is an international competition in which entrepreneurs from one country submit their business applications forms that get vetted by an international jury of experts from different business fields. The shortlisted entrepreneurs then get to a finalists stage which mimic’s the international finals by pitching before a selected panel which thereafter selects the final winner. After competing in a national competition the winner will continue to the international final in Copenhagen, Denmark and compete with other entrepreneurs for the title of being the world’s best entrepreneur from the creative industries and achieve both financial and business support.
Botswana’s leg of the CBC was concluded this past Saturday where Segametsi Ame Balosang won 1st position making her the Botswana entrepreneur to compete in the international finals in Copenhagen in Denmark in June this year. Segametsi is the founder of True AfriBites, a local innovative food processing company that strives to explore Botswana’s indigenous foods to create nutritious and organic products from tem. She delivered her pitch within the set 3 minutes and had the jury, attendants and fellow entrepreneurs won over by her creations. Come winner announcement time, Segametsi was surprised at the announcement but is nonetheless getting ready for the global competition with her tasty treats, and the Botswana partner, Ms. Nicollette Chinomona.
