The New Dawn launch today!

Botswana Gospel artistes Shinkie Seikise Keithokile alias Shinkie Mochawacha and Boitshepo Holy
Tlhabiwe will launch their first collaboration project The New Dawn at Maitisong Theatre today.

The duo released a 14-tracked traditional and contemporary Gospel album featuring some of Botswana and South Africa’s gospel musicians. In an interview, Mochawacha said the Friday event
dubbed The New Dawn Home Coming would afford local fans an opportunity to taste what their favourite entertainers had been dishing in the neighbouring countries. He said the album had received amazing response from their fans in the country as well as in South Africa and Lesotho where they recently held performances.

“The response has been awesome and i was amazed that one of the tracks I am leading Moya waka is enjoying enormous airplay in South African radio stations.

Both Lesotho and SA shows indicated how popular our music is, as the show attendants sang along.”

Mochawacha said they were confident about the Friday show leaving an impression among their
local fans.

The artiste said the support they had been enjoying from local and foreign music scenes had seen
them travelling between the three countries for shows.

He said lately churches had been inviting them to perform during gatherings, a move he hailed especially that people were coming out of a challenging period due to COVID-19 pandemic.

He said they intended to revive people’s spirit and give them hope through their music.

Mochawacha said singing was a powerful ministry that could be used to heal, deliver and win souls.

He said people should look forward to some of their songs such as Dipula tsa Medupe led by Tlhabiwe and Moya waka featuring Omega Khunou from South African music stable Spirit of Praise housing the likes of Benjamin Dube.

The New Dawn ensemble has been receiving positive reviews from those who have watched them perform and that alone has send local fans drooling to see what the band has to offer.

The event kicks off at 7pm. BOPA
