The grind never stops!
Covid hu, Covid ha, yes we see and speak it all around but one thing is that we are fighting it. At the beginning of it all it seemed as though our lives were going to forever be at a standstill under it was all over but we keep coming up with ways of living with it. Not with the virus inside of us but as it is around us.
2020 has been a very hard year all around. People losing both their jobs and lives. Businesses have slowed down their growth and scaled down their operations. Others have had to lay off their staff while others altogether closed down, it’s been tough. But entrepreneurs will tell you that opportunity lies in adversity. It is when it is chaotic that the thoroughbreds make it and that is what Creative Business Cup has been able to bring to life.
The CBC has been at play for many years giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their business all the way from idea stage. These entrepreneurs submit their businesses through a panel and get chance to pitch before a local panel all to qualify for the international competition with loads of prize money and investment opportunity. This year, the competition didn’t stop because of Covid-19. Entrepreneurs went on and submitted their businesses and a winner emerged.
This year, over 10 entrepreneurs pitched before a panel of 3 and Ms. Kgomotso Sedimo emerged the winner. Her startup, Keren Happuch clinched the prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Copenhagen, Denmark for the International finals of the Creative Business Cup in 2021. The event was all successful thanks to Lucara Botswana and Acceler8 Stanbic Bank Incubator.
Well done Kgomotso on our win, make us proud and raise our flag high!
