National Chess Team earns strips at the 43 World Chess Olympiad

The Team contunies to left th Blue, Black and White flag high at the ongoing Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia. Games started on the 21st September and will end on the 8th October 2018.

The team which is made up of five ladies and five men, the ladies team made up of WIM Onkemetse Francis, WIM Kgalalelo Botlhole, Ndachipiwa Kgomotso, WFM Masiti Besa and Boitumelo Radikoro, while the male or Open Section was was made up of one of Botswana`s finest IM Providence Oatlhotse, FM Khetho, CM Notha, CM Barileng, CM Mosenya.

News coming from Batumi, Georgia is that one of the Botswana`s Women International Master, IO, IA Tshepiso Lopang have been voted in as the Vice President of Africa Chess Commission, elections which where held Wednesday evening, Ms Lopang was champainging in the Team lead by Newly elected ACC President Lewis Ncube of Zambia. Forcing the team that was lead by Tshepo Sitale, who had to withdrew from the elections and endorsing Dr Esso of Cape Verde, rather than endorsing his fellow Motswana.
