Masiela Trust Fund on the 16th June 2018 hosted a sponsored walk to raise funds in honor of children, OVC, the walk was themed #Bonang Bana. As on the same day it was celebration of the African Child.
Guest speaker Hon. Botlogile Tshireletso, who is the Masiela Trust Fund patron. In her speech she expressed her warmest gratitude, “It is always a humbling experience to see people coming together from various sectors, especially Non-Governmental sector to work together for the betterment of other people, who are in need.”
When officiating the walk she pleaded with all stakeholders, especially the public and the business community to come on board and support the Fund. Amongst the walkers for the day was the GSS Class of 81, the current GSS students, chairperson and the advisor of The Bangladesh Community in Botswana, and the public.
On the day of the walk, good Samaritans heard the call and cry of Trust. Debswana donated P20, 000, TELEGU P20, 000, Bangladesh Association in Botswana P2000, while Mr Veg donated fruits, O3 Beverages donated bottled water, Choppers (sneaks and beverages), Botswana Law Society donated transport for the day to help those who couldn’t finish the walk and bottled water, TransAfrica P5000, Pharmzone Chemisty Phakalane P2000, Pula Funerals P2000, Eagles Nest Ministry provided PA System, GSS Class of 81.
The chairperson of Masiela Trust Fund Mr Monnakgotla, when giving closing remarks he thanked good Samaritans, Masiela secretariat, the public, current GSS students and the media, for gracing and joining them in the sponsored walk. And he pleaded with the stakeholders, individuals to join them as they continues in the work of making the environment conducive for OVC and destitute.
