The Grindpreneur: Rewards and Recognition
Firstly I would like to apologise to our readers for having been absent for the past three weeks; it’s that time of the year when we have to attend weddings every weekend (I speak marriage unto your life!!!)
Two weeks back I and my team attended the BOMU music awards, an annual ceremony that rewards artists for their crafts. This inspired my desire to blog about Recognition and Rewards, the only 2 things better than food. These are benefits given over and above the basic pay; which is to say, salary/wages are NOT“rewards”, but an obligation.
Employees respond to appreciation, especially when it’s expressed through recognition of their efforts because it confirms their work is valued. Here are 6 ways in which Recognition and Rewards are “better than food” in any industry:
It’s well-known that engaged staff are significantly more productive, working efficiently and proactively in order to do a good job. At this year’s BOMU awards, we saw ATI walking away with 6 awards, I anticipate that his next album will be BIGGER and BETTER, watch this space…
