THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A VOLUNTARY JOB
We all know that employers have difficulty in giving work-seekers without experience a chance in the job market especially young people. Volunteering helps the work-seekers to develop skills and have the required experience. Experience helps one to be marketable to the employer.
A voluntary job is when you work, or offer your services, without being compensated. Some organisations offer a stipend i.e money for transport so that you are able to get to work every day.
Voluntary jobs serve as an important tool to gaining experience. It is very important for one to commit 100% when volunteering by doing your job to the best of your ability. By doing so it will help the employer to put out a good word when you do start looking for a paying job. Your experience in a voluntary job must be added to your CV.
